Ceylon, Ratnapura · 7.8 ct, unheated · GRS Certified

A substantial unheated sapphire of exceptional size and saturation. The colour is extraordinary, with a velvety depth that speaks to its geological origin in the gem fields of Ceylon. Selected at source in Ratnapura and independently certified by GRS.

Spatial Note

An unheated sapphire of this saturation and size is presented perhaps once a year. Held to morning daylight, the silk reveals itself in the table.

2.6 ct Padparadscha sapphire

Walk One

A 2.6 ct padparadscha

Ceylon · Unheated · GRS

A rare padparadscha sapphire holding the lotus balance between pink and orange. Under daylight the warmer tones lead. Under incandescent the pink turns intimate. The colour reveals more as you look at it longer.

1.4 ct Alexandrite

Walk Three

A 1.4 ct alexandrite.

Ceylon · Unheated · GRS

A chrysoberyl that shifts from green in daylight to red under incandescent light. The colour-change is among the rarest phenomena in gemmology, native to fewer than a handful of gem species. A collector's piece in the strict sense.
